We are a volunteer ran BASICS scheme in Hampshire, comprising of a small group of Paramedics with Extensive Pre-Hospital Care Experience & Qualifications who choose to volunteer their time in order to provide evidence based Enhanced Care including Advanced Analgesia, Sedation, Advanced Resuscitation, Major Trauma Interventions, Respiratory and Ventilation support and Advanced Cardiac & Surgical procedures.

Due to the way we integrate into the statutory Ambulance service our patients and their relatives are usually unaware that assistance in their care was provided by a volunteer.

SCAS Charity have kindly fully funded a team liveried Volvo response vehicle Callsign ER101 and this is soon to be supplemented by a NEW Toyota RAV4 Callsign ER102 for which the vehicle purchase was funded through a BASICS HQ grant from Help Appeal.  This enables us respond quickly & safely across our mixed Urban/Rural operating region and responders also utilise personal or authority owned fully approved and regulated vehicles to respond to patients when tasked by the ambulance service.

The scheme is fully registered & approved  by the national BASICS charity, funded via SCAS Charity (Registered Charity no 1049778) and regulated through the full governance and clinical oversight of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
